Oh Danielle, I just viewed the pictures and just about cried. Poor, poor Bella. I can only imagine how painful it must be for her to try and eat not to mention how depressed she is. Unless I missed something here, did the vet have any concerns about her not eating other than prescribing an anti depressant? How did last night's baby food feeding go? Please, if you need anything at all, I don't know where you are but if I can help you in any way, just ask and know we are keeping you all in our thoughts. Martha

I finally took a look at those pics and omg....I am so sorry this happened to you and Bella! I know I would be livid with anger at the people responsible and terribly sad, concerned and heartbroken about Bella being in this situation. I send wishes and healing thoughts to Bella and to you!
I agree with whovian "if it has teeth, it should be on a leash"! I really hate that blame/anger usually goes to the perpetrating dog as it really is the owner and person/s responsible for that dog who are to blame! So many dog owners have troubled dogs who, with training and some observation and work, can be helped from these issues and attitudes. That dog was just set up for failure imo and in the end poor Bella suffered for it. You can tell this forum is very dog loving and savvy since very few here have lambasted the dog and placed the blame where it lies..on the people in charge!

After looking at the pics I am even angrier than before. It is hard to look at such damage to such a beautiful girl. I do not know where you are located but if e can be of any help please ask and we will all do our best to assist. Thank you for the updates , I'm sure you know we are all pulling for your Bella and are all anxiously waiting for even a little bit of good news. Keep your spirits up.

Hello, well back in for an update tonight. We got the results this morning from the bloodwork and urinalysis from Tuesday night. Long story short, I brought her to Guelph today, don't know what is going on, but the blood changed since friday night when this whole ordeal started. Bella is now septic, liver and kidney function are bad. They tell me that this will get worse before it gets better but they have all treatments at their finger tips. Prayers for Bella, she will be hospitalized there for 3 or 4 days anyway. Sorry I cannot give anything more positive. Thx for all the support here, it is making this nightmare more bearable. Paul

I know this is an unexpected and stressful turn of events. Hoping Bella will rally very soon. She is in the very best of hands... your devoted and steadfast love.... together with the medical expertise at Guelph. We are all praying for you.

Thanks for the update. We've been thinking about you. I don't know where you are located, but I am not far from Guelph and if there is anything that you need or that someone can do for you, please PM me. If there is a way to help, I would be happy to do it. And as Moncheri said, I am sure many others on this forum would be happy to help too if they could.
We're rooting for her recovery. It is amazing what antibiotics can do. Sending hugs from me and more digital face kisses from River.

Bella, Bella, we are all praying hard for you and your family to help recover from this awful incident. Gable and Liza were called in yesterday by the Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital to donate their blood as the hospital was running short and they are doing their part in helping all other canines that need help due to emergencies like the one you encountered and illness.

Prayers for Bella. This is so heartbreaking.
Have you decided what you are going to do about the folks and the attacking dog?

Hi All, I have stopped into a few people who witnessed to let them know Bellas situation, I was told by one of the witnesses that this happened August of last year in the same spot to her pug, but it was daylight and her husband was able to throw the pug out of harms way and wrestled the dog until the owner came, not sure how he was able to do it but he must have had more warning. She didn't report the incident because no damage was done to her dog, and the neighbours had just moved in. She now wishes she did. I will call and report this and hopefully put an end to the threat to dogs in our area. Also heard from Guelph today, Bellas condition has not got any worse, they r feeding her with a tube, she is resting comfortably. Thanks again for the prayers from the hounds and their peeps , and the offers of help. Have not heard a word from the perps parents... placed the bills in the mailbox, and the estimate from guelph, could have something to do with it, but I also advised that the home owners insurance would probably help, as dog owners liability act, they r responsible. Paul

Bella is in my thoughts. So sorry to hear of the setback, but glad she's getting excellent care.
Paul, do you mean the same dog attacked that pug that attacked your Bella?
