Update - no teeth removed at our first dental and no notes from the vet that there are any concerns. Working on the poop still however A food change and the addition of pumpkin, hopefully not too many more tries to get this one right. Neighbours haven't had any complaints and one of them told him the other day how great he's been. Only more good things to come

Hi there, Glad to hear that after a bit of a difficult start, things are starting to come around with Stryder. He certainly is a handsome fella. Hopefully his soft stools will disappear soon too and then he'll be all settled in. Good luck and keep us all posted. Lisa

Just had to share - finally success!!!! Officially had 3 days straight of no barking while I was at work! Stryder is doing just great! Now just have to work on being able to go out at night...although no barking when I went out for 2 hrs last night. Also 4 days of better poop.... seems like such little accomplishments, but HUGE for Stryder and me:) He's such a sweet boy. Thanks to everyone that gave me advice on helping with the separation anxiety, food, poop etc.
(ps - did try uncrating but he started barking and howling at the door and it actually seem to increase his anxiety, maybe in time for now he loves his crate)

Congrats on the progress! Watching this thread for more ideas.
A tad on the pricey side for oversized pillows, but PetSmart has some really nice ones for about $65. They come in a bed-in-a-bag type package. There's a Great Dane on the label -- our two have one each and can stretch right out. The washable cover will help as the fluffy stuff on top is a light cream.
