Sounds like you tried everything to get Tyson to like his crate. If you decide to uncrate him, he might surprise you and be the perfect boy when you're gone!

FWIW, my vet loves Bio-Calm. Her dog lives on it. Mind you, I didn't find it that it did much to help Betsy deal with fireworks.

I hope all is going well with Abby, a few comments and sugestions if I may;
1. You mentioned that when your at your inlaws Abby is perfectly fine which makes me think what happens or doesn't happen at you inlaws that happens at your apartment.
2. You had mentioned that when your there for 8-9 hours Abby is fine, now do you take her to a park/field that is fenced in for her to poo, and if you do, do take the leash off if it is a fenced in yard? If so don't keep the leash on and wait until she has done her business, than praise, if not take her in, wait and take her out again. You had said that you went down stairs to the store for 10 minutes and she pooed, I believe there is a certain amount of sep anxiety, but I also think she is scared to poo in front of you.
Our Rocco was not let off his leash for at least 3 days when we got him, he had to pee and poo with the leash on and us right there staring at him until he knew we were the good guys.
I hope at least 5% of this helps.

I have a pomeranian who, no matter how long his walk is, will always want to go outside to the backyard to pee or poop when we come home. It's as if he is saving one last bit for his own territory. He has always done this and he is almost fourteen years old. It must be hard for you living in an apartment and not having a backyard. I don't know how you do it. Dog owners in apartment buildings are a very dedicated bunch of animal lovers because it is so much more work than for those living in a house. Kudos to you!

I hope everything is going well with Abby and she is over the worst for her sake and for your sanity. I just wanted thank everyone for the help and support with Ty's minor SA. The Bio-Calm recommended by my vet has seemed to do the trick. We gave him a dose on Saturday to make sure he had no bad reaction to it (he didn't) except he became very playful. So Sunday morning I gave him his dose an hour before we left (we will only be using it when gone for prolonged periods of time of more than 2 hours) put him in his crate with no trouble. We came home to happy dog. No bent wires, no bent lock and most impressive was no wet blankets from panting (I still expected that). Same in the afternoon. what I like about this stuff is he doesn't get sleepy just no anxiety. When we let him out of his crate he went straight to the toy box and grabbed his stuffie and took it to my hubby for the first time since getting him. Sorry for the rambling but I was shocked by Ty's response to it. Thanks again. Tara
