I'm just playing catch up, and reading what I've missed ~~ how's Houdini doing now?

Tail at the moment is stable, we've gotten a muzzle with plastic guard across the front of it from House of Earl so he cant get at the tail at all now. He is due to get some of the staples out on tuesday so hopefully that will make it more comfortable. I'm sure its itchy. This has been such a challenge...his introduction to retirement in Ontario has been less than pleasant poor fellow.

Well that's good news to hear, Sandra. I imagine it's been very difficult in addition to frustrating for you. You must be relieved that the guard is working.
I almost amputated Bonnie's tail in the car door this past winter. Luckily, it was just the very tip that I caught, and no medical treatment was necessary. It sure was a valuable lesson for me though. I know of someone who caught their grey's tail in the car's power window, resulting in an amputation. Now he relives it repeatedly, when others ask what happened. I have a lot of compassion for him, as I imagine the guilt he must feel whenever he's reminded.
