The surgery went fine he is recovering at the vet until later today, probably wondering where the morning cheese treat (with omega capsule inside) is! Thanks for your encouragement I do appreciate it.

Awww, poor guy. There is a hound in my area that has about the same length tail. It was nuts in a car door the second day they had her. I am sure that he will still wag his tail though. I wonder how many people will ask you what kind of dog he is now that his tail is short?
Hope the healing is speedy.

I hope Houdini is doing well. That's not much of a tail, but at least he won't get happy tail again.

it's been 5 days post surgery. We had him back to the vet as the incision was seeping. The internal stitches had come loose so 4 staples were put in. Poor fellow has been through alot.

Its been a challenge for sure! We've had to keep Houdini from getting at his stumpy tail, and have had to keep it bandaged as he enjoys rolling around on the floor and had been scuffing it up. Colloidal silver is helping to heal up the scrapes now I think were over the worse.

the news isnt as encouraging as Id have hoped by now. Its been an unbelievable challenge to keep him from getting at the incision and pulling out staples. He also had a minute session before I got to him and took off the skin right down the side of his little tail. So were healing that up too, or tryng to. I'm going to be grabbing a muzzle from House of Earl that has a plastic piece across the front of it. Lets see how he gets around that!

Gosh...this has been so challenging. I hope the muzzle idea keeps Houdini from reopening that incision again. Best of luck!!

Would a cone around Houdini's neck help??? What a challenge with it. Best of wishes.
