What a small world... Tonight I met Duke's new family up here in Sault Ste. Marie . I don't see him on the website, but he was adopted 3 days ago and he's a gorgeous pup! What are the odds that in a city of 75,000 they live just a stone's throw away. Like Roman and I, Duke and his mommy are only in the Soo for the summer. Welcome to the north Duke! ;D

What's up with Ricky? Why has no one adopted him yet? He looks very adorable.

Can anyone give me the skinny on Hawk and Oscar? I wish I lived closer so I could meet this guys myself but....since I don't.....I'm just wondering what their personalities are like.

Bumping for Ricky! He's been at GRA so long. What is he like? Why hasn't anyone fallen in love with him yet?

Re: Bumping for Ricky I spoke to Bill about Ricky (must be close to six weeks ago now, my how time flies!) and asked the same questions. Bill mentioned that when Ricky arrived at GRA he was ill (a gastro- intestinal concern, I think). Bill and his special magic fixed him up as good as new (if not better!). But Ricky wasn't even made available for adoption, Bill told me, until he had been given the all-clear from the vet. So even though his records indicate that he's been there forever (what it is really -- since November 2005? I've checked so many dog's records that I'm starting to get them all mixed up!) he hasn't really been "on the market" the whole time. Regardless -- that's a long time to be without a person/persons who cherish you and think the world of you, so let's all think good thoughts and say a few prayers for Ricky!! LOL, Anna and Dotty ;D

Yes, Ricky was sick when he first arrived. He's doing fabulous now. He has a thin coat, but it's very very soft. He's also quiet. He's afraid of storms. However, he loves hugs, he can be very kissy and has been caught a few times roaching in his crate. LOL He has a very gentle face and looks at you so softly. I think part of his problem is that he's a brindle male. Bill has a lot of brindle males available so he just gets lost in the crowd of the more rambunctious ones.
Hawk and Oscar are goons. They're both young boys. First day they were there, Bill warned me, watch out for those four white particoloured boys in the back. Boy was he right. Whoosh, they'd fly past you and out the front door to the bathroom,.. open the door again and Whoosh they're back in. I got such a kick out of them. They're really sweet.

LOL...young, silly boys! They might just be a bit too much for my laid back house.
I love the brindles myself and hope someone special comes along for Ricky.

In the latest update to the site--dated Aug 7 but I just noticed it today--Ricky and a bunch of others are no longer listed.

I hope Ricky's absence means that he found the right home! Who could resist a guy with the name Richard Hatch? You gotta love that!
I'd love to get a 2nd grey, but I don't know if my greysitter would take on 2. Have to see in the future once my husband finds a full time job that pays half decent. I definitely would need to get a cat safe pup too.

Yes YES YES!!! Ricky has found a home! I'm so happy for him!!!! Yay!!!!!! I'm so glad. He had to wait quite a while, even after he was healthy. Now he gets to find out what all the excitement is about. ;D (Maybe you should post this on GT ) PS - Is the list of availables (especially the males) much shorter because of adoptions, or was it reduced for some other reason?

YAY!!!! I'm so happy Ricky was adopted! Does anyone know if it was a London area adoption? I'd love to see that handsome pup at our walks sometime!
