Regarding the "digitally-challenged Katzar -- we happen to have a very large cat with six toes on each foot -- maybe we could work something out?? Ha,ha. LOL!! Too funny! And congrats on bringing Dotty home!! BTW, the emoties are just above where you type your message. Just click on the one that you want to add and it will insert it for you wherever your cursor is in your message. Don't worry about you lack of computer knowledge either. Everyone has to start somewhere and before you know it it'll all be second nature!! ;D

Hi lovemygreys! Thank you so much for the info regarding emoties. Am I too stupid or what? I don't see any emoties above the "Quick Reply" box down at the bottom of the page. (That's the only way I know how to post a reply as of yet. How do I get to the page with the emoties?) Thanks for your patience. I know that there is absolutely no excuse for computer illiteracy in this day and age, and that it must be extremely frustrating to have to put up with such a dough-head. Dotty is adjusting phenomenally well -- it's too good to be true scary!!! It makes me want to rush out and get another dog (or dozen). After all, greys are like potato chips, right? You can't have just one! We'll hold off for a while, however; we want Dotty to become totally settled and relaxed and certain of our eternal adoration before we ask her to share the love!

She always has a wide grin ;D on her face. She love to go out and walk too. She has amazing tablemanners (she doesn't go up to the table when we're eating, she doesn't even beg!!! That's shocking !!!!) She is adorable and doing well! I hope to get some pictures on the site soon. I hope your dogs are doing fine, BYE!!!

Hi, this is greytfriend's 11 year old again, with another update on Dotty!!! She is great, she lets us know when she has to go out to the bathroom (which is like unheard of in greyhounds, wow! )!!! She loves the one matress that we have down for her in the living room, she also loves her grunting, fuzzy cow toy that we got her. She still has a huge grin ;D on her face but isn't panting as much as she was which is a sign that she's calming down. She met the cats today!!! We have 2 cats, the one is a fat, 6-toed oaf that is layed-back and very silly but, we love her, the other one is very skinny, protective, uptight cat. We put the muzzle on Dotty and introduced the cats, the skinny one (Furball) was so calm and cool, I thought that she would totally freak out but she didn't. Then when we introduced her to the 6-toed one (Paddy, yes that's the proper spelling, I swear) she totally flipped out and hissed, I thought it was impossible for her to hiss, oh well! We also pet our bunny (Vanilla) when she was in her cage in front of Dotty to show Dotty that Vanilla is a part of the family, not some chew toy. Dotty also went up and down the stairs that lead to our door, there's more than one way of going up and down to the door though and she chose the stairs, brave girl!!! She had no problems and froze only once (her first time ever on any stairs which is understandable) but then she mastered it. She doesn't bark either. She has just been [glow=red,2,300]PERFECT[/glow] so far, I'll update later but bye for now! P.S I'm sorry this message was so long!!! ;D

We're so glad to hear that Dotty has found a great home. She is such a sweetheart!! It's also nice to see that Chevy finally found a home. He's seems like such a mellow, beautiful boy that we were suprized he wasn't snapped up sooner. Also, did you know that Dotty had a brother (Abbey) at the kennel also who was adopted shortly before she was?
Anyway, congrats again!

Yes, we knew that Abbey and Dotty are siblings! We saw Abbey's photo on the "available" page, and his info came up when I did the search of Dotty's lineage. He is absolutely gorgeous! I think he "moved" to Ottawa, if I'm not mistaken? If he is half the dog Dotty is, and I'm sure he is, then his new family will be thrilled with him!!! As for Dotty, I checked some of my previous posts and noticed that I mention her smile alot. Please know that I realize the difference between a nervous, ingratiating, intimidated "grin" and a true "smile". In his book DOGS AND THEIR PEOPLE: CHOOSING AND TRAINING THE BEST DOG FOR YOU, Steve Diller explains that it's best to ignore that type of timid display from intimidated, scared dogs, not to reward that kind of self-conscious nervous behaviour with laughter, etc. in order not to reinforce the timidity. Rest assured, Dotty is actually SMILING!! She is very comfortable, not scared nor timid, checking things out inquisitively but not aggressively, confidently reacting to new and strange experiences. I simply can't believe just how well this whole experience is unfolding!! I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop -- must be the pessimist in me?? After all, she has made NO toileting messes, has met and adjusted to our lop-eared bunny (white, no less!!! Talk about in your face!) and our two housecats, has not approached the table during human meal times, is a dream to walk on lead ....... IS THIS NORMAL???!!! Wake me, I must be dreaming!!!

It's greytfriend's 11 year old again. I know now that Dotty is without a [shadow=red,left,300] SHADOW[/shadow] of a doubt the best dog ever!!! She's completly adjusted to the cats. She barked at the cats only once when she was scared of one I think. ;D

Don't worry, if anyone knows what a smile looks like, it's a greyhound person! She sounds like a very good girl. That's fortunate for you. She will leave the human table alone as long as you don't share, but the first time you do, you'll have a table buddy Abbey is doing wonderful in his new home too. From what I've been told, he's been a very easy going boy and has even learned some tricks (obedience) already. Oh, and their easy adjustment is why it's so easy to add more and more and more

Hi, congrats on getting Dotty. I know you will be so happy. I had to laugh at the waiting for the other shoe to drop because it is all too easy. The shoe never does. They stay that good. I thought Dotty looked like a sweetheart on the net and you are just confirming that. I am so happy for you all including Dotty. Enjoy. June and Lexie

Hi again I was wondering if anyone can tell me if Amy was adopted and Ricky. I know Bill went for more dogs but the web page has not got them. I am dying to see them. I love hearing about who is adopted, since I can't have more. Who is still there? Thanks June

I love hearing about who is adopted, since I can't have more. Who is still there? Thanks June Both are still available as of last Sunday night. I am finding it VERY difficult resisting Amy. I love her so much, but we have 4 and are moving out of the city in September.
