all of the "firsts" are so much fun to witness, it just makes you feel greyt. Renny sounds like he's making super progress, you should indeed be very proud of him. and don't forget, we LOVE pictures!, did the golden help him learn stairs? Martha

sigh. I need help!
Renny's seperation anxiety is giving me anxiety.
He is absolutely amazing overnight, he loves his bed, sleeps solidly, never makes a peep.
During the day however, it's a different story.
He was doing alright up until 2 days ago. We have left him for a few hours at a time, no more than 4, and he cried and barked, but that was the end of it. I left for work on Tuesday around 2pm, and when my boyfriend got home at 4:30, he came home to a totally destroyed bed and a distraught dog (he is crated while we are gone.
Fast forward to yesterday, where we were off, but had to run errands, we left him for no more then 90 minutes and came home to ANOTHER destroyed bed in the crate.
I tried leaving him out of his crate, baby gated into his "room" when I left for work today with the crate door open, and just got word from my boyfriend that he chewed through the baby gate, knocked it out of place, and then chewed the banister of the stairs.
I know the chewing is caused by the SA, he has no desire to chew when we are home, but I am at a loss. I took him for a 40 minute walk before i left, left him with a rawhide, a frozen stuffed Kong, and his Thundershirt.
I'm not sure what to do next. The people who live upstairs tell me he is frantic when I leave during the day, but alone training when I am home seems to be working! So I dont know where to go!
Any advice?
