Just thought I'd share this recipe. Wyn has a very sensitive tummy and eats a salmon and potato kibble. Its hard to find a fish based, limited ingredient treat to compliment her diet that her tummy also agrees with, so when I came across this recipe I had to try it...that way, I know exactly what goes in them.
1 can mackerel (or salmon) undrained 2 eggs 1 cup flour, split in half
Pour can of mackerel/salmon into blender or food processor, blend until smooth. Add eggs and blend, then 1/2 cup flour. Blend, then add last 1/2 cup flour and blend until smooth. Pour into 8x8 lightly greased baking dish. Bake @ 375 degrees for 15mins. Cool and cut into squares. Keep in fridge.
Hints: I've made theses a few times now, the 1st time was in an old plastic blender...OMG very messy/hard to clean as the dough is very thick. Next times I used a magic bullet blender to mix the fish w/ the eggs, then poured in a bowl and mixed in the flour by hand w/ a spoon...much easier! I cut them into 2" or so squares. They turn out soft and flaky but firm up in the fridge. I haven't used mackerel, just salmon. The orig. recipe didn't say to keep in fridge, so I did an experiment and left a bag @ room temp...went moldy in a wk...don't worry, I did not give any of those to Wyn! I made them @ Xmas and gave them to all my friends w/ dogs...all the dogs, and even some cats LOVED them. A batch in the fridge prob lasts a couple wks, but I haven't had them around long enough to find out for sure! I would like to try blending the eggshells into the recipe next time for extra nutrition, but if someone beats me to it, let me know!

First, I love that you named you greyhound Wynonna. Thanks for the recipe. I often add sardines or mackerel as treats into Finn's meals for an extra stinky treat, complete with those extra stinky burps afterwards, so he is sure to LOVE these. Like you I would probably just use the whole egg, shell and all.
