I have been bugging my husband for almost 2 years, since we got our 1st greyhound Callie to get a 2nd dog. On Thursday, for one reason or another he texted me during the day saying he was interested in getting another greyhound, specifically he wanted Izon (red 21 month old). Of course I did not argue with him at all and called Bill to see if he was still available, and he was. I made sure to ask if he was good with cats and Bill said he would call me back later on to let me know. I was so excited that I never really stopped to think that this might not work out. Bill did call me back on Friday and unfortunately Izon was not well suited to live with cats. My hopes were crushed and Mat, my husband, was not interested in another dog. Callie is mostly all black so he didn't want another black one and for one reason or another he's not to interested in the brindle colouring (don't ask me why because i think they are gorgeous), so that left red/fawn greyhound. However with Izon not being suitable there was no other option, so I told Bill we would keep looking and call him back some other time.
Saturday night Bill called me back to say that Ozzie (the other red greyhound) was being returned on Sunday and that he would be a good match to living with cats. After talking with Mat, It took us about 10 minutes to decided and today we drove all the way to GRA (through the ice storm and all) to pick up Ozzie. He's such a sweetie already and Callie and him seem to be doing good so far. He did growl at her a few times in the car but I think that's cause she was trying to get comfy and while doing that she accidentally steeped on him. Mr doesn't want to be bothered while hes sleeping lol. He did really well the whole drive home (which took about 7 hours) and he even did great with the cats. He doesn't seem too interested in them which is great. So all in all things are going really well for day #1. We shall see what time brings us, hopefully many years and many adventures. In the mean time here a re a few pictures of him. Sorry for the pictures, but they are all taken with my cell phone and most of them are in the car while driving home.
