We feed Top and Stella only once per day around 4 pm This seems to be working well for us but is it better for the dogs to feed smaller amounts twice? They really do eat quite alot at a time, then go out immediately and they almost always run right after.

Please don't let them run right after they eat. There is a risk of bloat/torsion (vets call it GDV), a very serious condition that can require horrifically expensive treatment/surgery that often doesn't work. It's not common in greys, but it can happen.
They should wait at least an hour--better two--before running. They can walk right away. It's also wise to let them cool down for an hour before feeding if they've run hard.

I have always fed two meals a day approx 12 hrs apart to my girls and of course treats/snacks given several times throughout the day: when I leave for work, after my parents come at noon for a pee break, bed time. But as GreyPoopon has advised no running immediately after eating. I always walk my girl before she gets fed.

We do twice a day here. Breakfast of kibble around 9am and dinner of moist food around 6pm. I also don't exercise for at least an hour before or after.

I didn't include this in my previous post, so...
I feed twice a day, around 9 am and 6 pm. They're walked before the first meal and after the second. There is time between walks and meals, but it varies, and I don't worry if it's somewhat less than an hour. There is a mid-day walk as well; playtime is after that so isn't close to meals.

My greys also are fed two meals per day; around 7:30 am and 5:30 pm. After their morning meal, they do their duties in the backyard but no one is allowed to run. They have a good hour to two hours snooze and then they have their long walk in the ravine/neighbourhood. They get treats around noon hour. During the afternoon, the three of them have their playtime in the backyard where especially the boys run themselves silly. By time their supper meal is ready, the hounds' tummies have all settled down.
I know of several racing kennels in the States that feed their hounds once a day too so if that works for you better then I would carry on. But as greypoopon stated, running/excessive exercise immediately following a meal or excessive water can bring on gastric torsion (bloat), in many cases, death can result.

We will change the schedule immediately...no running after eating. That would be a horrible thing to happen. We will also go to two smaller meals per day and see how that works. For a long time I was a bit uncomfortable with giving them so much at a time. Thanks.
