On any given night, I'll spend part of my evening on the livingroom couch. It's only big enough for one person and one dog and, on that particular evening, Jack had his head in my lap. When Stuey trotted around the corner only to find that Jack was occupying the spot he wanted, he looked at us for a moment, and then walked over to the window. When he started to bark, Jack jumped off the sofa, puffed his chest out, and ran over to investigate. Dave (who was on the floor) also followed. As soon as Jack and Dave were thoroughly wound up, Stu slowly backed away from the window, and jumped on the sofa beside me. By the time the other two boys realized that there wasn't anything there, Stuey was already curled up in a ball beside me.

Funny you mention that! My Dane works up everyone from the couch exactly the same way. He goes to the door, barks as there is someone out there to be greeted. Of course all Greys have to check that out! Once they are all lined up at the door, Hamlet runs back to the futon and stretches out as long as possible. King of the couch - end of story.
