I posted a couple of pictures in the adopted hounds thread, but here's Ava in all her comfortable glory. She's adapting to our home life like she's always been here, and that's how it feels. Well except for the 5 or 6 trips out to potty I have to do with her (we have no enclosed yard - front or back), that's taking some getting used to hahaha, especially at 6am-ugh. We've had more people-training than grey-training around here (no food or anything that could be misconstrued as food allowed out - anywhere!). She likes one of the stuffies or the couch throw-pillows, loves her Kong filled with pb and treats when I have to go to work, and totally ignores the cat. He's being a bit of an a$$hole towards her, to be honest... but he's slowly warming up. She's actually a little fearful of him and whined at me today because he was blocking a doorway. I can put a towel or blanket anywhere, and she'll lay on it, to be near me. She follows me everywhere, even into the bathroom. She's super-awesome with the kids, and amazing on walks. She chatters her teeth when she's excited, only growled once when she saw a dog walking on the other side of the street from our house, and has only barked at the cat a couple of times (and well-deserved in our books). She sleeps beside our bed at night, and already seems to respond well to "Go to bed!" She loves her coat for walks, and is starting to give kisses and lay with her head on our laps on the couch. I'm in love, can you tell?

She is such a doll, The day I picked Cyah up she came into the kennel, I looked at her and told her that of Cyah wasn;t there I would have snapped her up in a second. But 5 is our limit!
Congrats to everyone

Thx everyone. Day by day the cat is becoming more tolerant. Hubby said this morning when he got up, the dog came out of our room from one side of the bed, and the cat came out from the other haha. Ava started playing outside with me this morning; hunkering down and jumping/pouncing through the snow and responded when I laughed. She then hopped up onto our bed when I went back to sleep after Hubby headed out to work.

I am so glad that Ava is fitting in so easily. That is soooo wonderful. Looking at the pictures of your beautiful girl on the couch, she is definitely enjoying her retirement. Tara
