Greetings!
The countdown is on! We'll be bring Kingfisher home in 5 days....I'm so excited. I know the greys are fed Royal Canine at the kennel, should I be buying a bag of that to start off with and slowly incorporate the food I want Fisher to be eating . Or should I be just starting him off with the new food? Thanks for your help.

Ideally thats the best way to go, slowly incorporate new food to your dog. However that's not what I did. I didn't want to put Callie on Royal Canine so I just started her on new food from the start. I tried it out for a month or 2 and she still had runny poop so I switched her to another kind. This time I did slowly introduce the new food by mixing it in with some of her old food for a little while, however after a month or 2 it was the same problem as before. Now shes on Taste of the Wild and it seems to be working really well for her. Every dog is different and will tolerate some food better then others. It's a matter of finding which one is best for your dog. Congrats on soon bringing home your new pup, you wont regret it

I bought a small bag of Royal Canin and slowly started incorporating the food she's on now and she did well that way. As celine87 said, that is the best way to go.
Can't wait to see pics of Fisher at home!

I agree with the above. Just want to caution that the runny poop is not always the food. I've had Josh for 3 months and just took another poop sample in and he still has worms. So treatment # 2 for him.
