hi there! i'm not exactly new, but this is my first time posting. my name is brittany, and about five years ago my family and i stumbled across the Gracanada website, and after my brother and I pretty much begged with our mom and dad, we were finally allowed to adopt a dog. When looking through the pages, I instantly fell in love with Tomax Ebony Doll, and so did the rest of my family. Almost a week later we had drove out to take a look at her, and we instantly knew she was the perfect addition to our family. We were uncertain when she first came home, but she warmed up, and was the perfect choice. She's got quite the personality to her, she loves to sleep on my bed, and stay in until noon, we tend to spoil her rotten and she loves every second of it. About two years ago, in December my parents brought Eby back to look after her because we were all going out of town, while there we instantly fell in love with Blackie, wh was seven at the time. My brother and I tried so hard to convince my parents to adopt him, because he was so handsome and even wagged his tail when my and brother walke up to him. Wellll, when we came into town again, my parents made plans to pick up Ebony, and to our surprise, brought Blackie home too! Ebony and Blackie got along perfectly, hardly ever barked at each other, and got the same amount of affection. Two years later, when he was nine, on Thanksgiving he was having a hard time standing up, we thought that was because he was old, but throughout the night he kept getting worse. After saying goodnight the Blackie, my brother and I went to bed. My mom and dad woke my brother and I up at around seven am, saying that Blackie just kept getting worse throughout the night, so they took him to the vet at about 3am, to find that he was in a lot of pain, and there was nothing that could help him out. The vet decided that putting him to rest was the best thing for him. We would never want to see him suffer more then he had to. It was very hard to get over at first, because he had made such a perfect addition to our family. When Ebony realised that he was gone, she started acting differently, wasn't as hyper, or as enthused, she would occasionally jump at the the smallest of things. A few months had passed, and things were starting to get okay, and Ebony was starting to get back to her old normal self. The loss of Blackie was a hard one, we still love him very much, but it's better where he his now,and for that I feel better knowing he isn't suffering. Ebony also loves the walks my mom and I take her on, and enjoys Tim Horton's Timbits whenever we stop by there. She is nine years old now, but is still as energetic as she was when she first adopted her. Eby is absolutely affectionate and very diva-esque, and i'm glad she is apart of our family.
This picture was taken a few days ago when we were decorating the house for Christmas. Eby is wearing the antlers, then is my brother, and then my gramma's dog Chuckie in the santa touque. I'm workin on scanning a picture of Blackie for everyone to see:)

So sorry to hear about Blackie. These dogs really become members of the family, and I can only imagine how hard his passing was for you and your family. It's nice to know that Ebony is starting to enjoy life again. Welcome to the forum!
