Hi folks, some of you know me, some of you know me through Oscar and his diaries, but I just joined this site today.
Denise, the almost 9-yr-old broodie is coming home to me! I just spoke with Bill and I can have her in two weeks. How cool is that??
I hope Oscar would approve. I miss him terribly, but Dee needs us and I need her, so I don't think he would mind.

I have seen your postings about Oscar's diaries - that's such a great thing to do, I'll have to order one sometime soon (well we'll see after Tavi's next vet test - his kidney readings weren't so good today so I might need all the money I can get for him)
Looking forward to seeing pics of your new girl at home.. Denise is a real sweetie!

Welcome to this board. You are nearly like a Grey celebrity! I have followed some of your postings and Oscar's stories for a while. You'll like the people and dogs on this forum. They love greyhounds just as much, but just a little more in the Canadian way eh! BTW there must be some Dutch background with a name like Mareyeka?

Thanks folks, I'm amazed at how many people know Oscar. :-) Yup, mareyeka is my screen name for my real name, Marijke. As Dutch as you can get!

markeyeka, 2 weeks to wait for Denise!?! Man that is tough.. I had to wait a week for Bia but it was definitely worth the wait. Are you driving down to GRA to pick her up or is someone able to transport her to QC for you? Was Oscar a GRA dog too? Welcome to the family

Welcome to our group. I have only been involved with greys since this summer but I do know a little about Oscar. Make sure you post some pictures of Denise. We look forward to seeing them.

Thanks for the welcome folks. I'm trying to arrange a short GUR for Dee since it's about a 7 to 8 hour drive for us to the kennel. I think it will be do-able with Tina's help (she volunteered). But, if I had to, I'd go get her.
Oscar came to use through SOS greyhound here in Montreal, so it's my first time through GRA. I loved talking to Bill last night. I can only imagine what it is like there with all those dogs!

Congratulations on Denise and welcome! Your postings of Oscar are truly heartwarming, and I'm sure he would approve of Denise. She's a real sweetheart and yes, been at the kennel way too long.
Enjoy your new girl!!

Congrats and welcome. Denise is a very special girl. I haven't read Oscar's Diaries yet, but I'm sure he is happy that Denise will soon be joining your family.
How true, Dee needs you and I know she will help ease your pain.
Can't wait for pics of her in her home.
