Hello to all: We have just joined the GRA forum and would like to say hello. We have two greys, Mystic and Violet! Violet (race name ultraviolet) came to us Dec. 26 and Mystic (race name gravel???) came to us last weekend. It took me some time to convince my husband that you can't have just one grey! Two is the minimum required (HaHa). The two are still working out which of the two is going to be dominant but by and large are getting along well. They have been buddies for years before coming to us, we're told.
I find it hard to believe that Mystic has never had a human family before. On her first day in our home she claimed the love seat (it's white!?) and is proving that she is a couch potato. Breaks our heart to have to snuggle her (not!). Both our girls are loving little ladies. They are truly a blessing.
Well, just wanted to say hi. Perhaps we'll post some pictures of our girls when we figure out how.
mystic and violet's mom.

Well, if you ever feel like a drive to Toronto with the pups, come and meet us all at Norwood Park on a Sunday afternoon. Even on a day like today with snow on the ground and more snow falling we had a good turn out with seven dogs and their humans.

We have two greys in a smallish appartment. After they got used to being in a home, and us coming and going, they do wonderful in the space. We can fit the two of them in the back of our two-door cavalier. They will travel in the front seat as well (one at a time, of course!), but if you are going to do that, I would restrain them, as the front seat is not as safe as the back. You could also try to show up for a walk or other greyhound get-together. They are good places to see the greys in action (and to pick the brains of other grey-parents). Good luck!
