Ticker is with us and Bob now.....we went down today and picked him up.....the first place we hit was the groomers...holy cow he was stinky...lol....no more evil barn for Ticker....he's adjusting and it may take a bit.....he looks happier alrerady....he sure has some attitude....he barks very loudly at other dogs that are not greys....and our poor guiny pig Cleatus....poor thing may go deaf from the barking....lol......Ticker and Bob are getting along fine when Ticker adjusts I'm sure they will be the best of friends....I'll post pictures very soon... Alice and Mike

Congratulations!!!!! Yep, I remember when we got Sy - he needed a bath in a big way. Good call to stop by the groomers first. ;D Doesnt really matter, they are all adorable and lovable. We have 2 gerbils and we had to relocate them to the basement - if not, Sy would seriously break in to their cage and eat them!

LOL....thanks for the advice....I was thinking of putting a blanket over his cage but relocation sounds better.....Ticker doesn't know what to do with himself....he kind of looks lost wondering through the house he will eventually realize this is his home.....no more cage or barn for him...

Congratulations! I have two mice and a hamster that three of my four would "help themselves to" if I let them. I put them on a 4' shelf and they don't bother with them. As long as you don't draw attention to them, they don't bother them.. and the longer they are a part of their natural setting, the more the dogs ignore them

Ticker is with us and Bob now.....we went down today and picked him up Yay! Yay! Yay! I'm sure he'll settle in soon. Since he's not sure about other breeds, you might want to keep him at a distance for now. I introduced Edie too quickly--because the other three wanted to talk to their friends--and her issues got worse. We're taking it slower now.

;D hooray for you and Ticker!!! ;D 3 out of 4 of our greys needed work when socializing with other breeds when they first came home too...It didn't take long for us so hopefully it will be pretty easy for you and Ticker too! I am so glad you were able to go back and get him! Can't wait for pics of your 2 beauties together!

A message directly from Bill this morning......"if you consider the barn "evil" perhaps you should bring your dogs back, if it weren't for that "evil barn" almost 2500 greyhounds wouldn't have a couch to lay on."

A message directly from Bill this morning......"if you consider the barn "evil" perhaps you should bring your dogs back, if it weren't for that "evil barn" almost 2500 greyhounds wouldn't have a couch to lay on." I am sure that phrase was not meant in a manner that would reflect negatively on all that Bill and Freddie do for the greyhounds. GRA is a wonderful organization and their barn offers opportunity for people to adopt greys when other elitist organizations around here are too busy preaching and controlling instead of giving good people a chance to bring home and love a grey (or 2 or 3...). I am soooo thankful for GRA, I promote them ever chance I get. Everyone (OK most) wants to see companion animals on couches and beds and therefore some have a hard time seeing them in cages and kennels...I think that is the reference that was being made here...am I right?

I agree Sheri. I think what Alice said was misinterrupted and didn't mean anything by it. Without Bill and Freddie and GRA I wouldn't have the most amazing greyhound

Yes, I was thinking the same thing...that it was meant in a joking manner...since it was preceded by an "lol." I'm so glad that Alice & Mike got Ticker! And as I've said before...thank God for Bill and Freddie! Another Alice

That's correct, it was not meant to be negative. It's just too bad they live in a barn and not in homes with families where they belong. I commend Bill and Freddie for their efforts. They are amazing people and I wish there were more like them. I apologize if anyone took it out of context.

Congratulations Bob on your new brother Ticker!!! I'm glad Ticker got a nice home with a greyt new family and 'hound brother. I'll always have a soft spot for Ticker -- my (almost ) second grey. I certainly am glad that Bill and Freddie work as hard as they do so people like us can enjoy the fruits of their labour -- wonderful, awesome, fantastic dogs. I wouldn't trade Dotty for anything in the world! She has completed my family in a way that is difficult to explain and completely amazing to experience!! I can't imagine life without her. I love her!! Thank you so much Bill and Freddie!! I appreciate all of your efforts on behalf of greyhounds everywhere!!
