Sally has been home for over a year now. She goes in her crate when we're not home. Last year I attempted to leave her out which was fine until she found a tin of fudge. Back to the crate! We now store any and all chocolate in a cupboard high up. She's settled in now so I'm going to try taking the crate away. Most days she sleeps in my room while I'm at work. I kept her bed where the crate was. And Tony the cat is safely separated from her while we're not at home. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Just after I posted the above, I walked into the dining room and came upon this...

LOL. Awesome spot for kitty. Good luck with removing Sally's crate. I'm assuming she hasn't been using it even though it was still there?

That is so funny, cat on geyhound bed.
Like the 'tags'/fringes of material on the edges - my two would have torn them off by now!

You'll have to keep us posted on Sally's progress without her crate. Love the kitty though ... it's obvious he loves his comfort.

Way to go, Tony. Top and Stella have a sister who looks just like you AND steals their bed too!

I was also thinking of removing Jack's crate as he is only inside it to eat his dinners! Any ideas/input as to whether that will stress a dog out? He never uses it, like I said, unless he's eating...any changes in behaviour Sally?

I would start feeding him outside his crate for a few days and then remove it. Good luck, sounds like you can get ride of that furniture.

The picture of Tony reminded me of ET (where he is hiding in the closet amongst all the stuffed animals)!. Good luck to Sally going crate less!!

I did take the crate away and Miss Sally is doing just fine without it! The bed that was in the crate is still in the same spot. Mostly she just lays on my bed but she likes to eat her treats (or food that she steals) on the bed where her crate was.
