Hello all. I am Krisztina Mikkelsen, your GRACanada webperson and the admin of this forum. I adopted my first Greyhound, LL Visa Charger in January 2001, my second one, LL Free Zone in September 2001, and my third one Cal's Shera, in October 2005. Other than those 'kids" I have a Great Dane, Hamlet, and a Jack Russell Terrier, Dallas.
And add to feather to fur, I also have a Greenwing Macaw, Gabriel, and an Indonesian Red Sided Eclectus parrot, Mikki. Oh, did I mention three daughters?
We live NE of Toronto in the country, and have millions of friends with Greyhounds.
So, how about you? Let's get to know each other.
Krissy

Well, I have two of God's greatest gifts - Dagny, who adopted me Thanksgiving 1999, and Galt who allowed me into his life Canada Day 2000. They share space with my two cats, Ashleigh and Sarah. We live in the deep south - Windsor! Since Dagny and Galt came to Windsor, I have seen many, many more Greys become Windsorites! And many of them, from GRA! I am a manager with with Canada Border Services Agency (Customs) and was first introduced to greys about 12 years ago while working as a customs inspector at our commercial warehouse. Many truckloads of greys to be adopted came through, and that's when my love affair with them began. I also cover municipal politics for Cogeco on television in Windsor and use every 'appropriate' opportunity to promote greyhound adoption on air or when speaking in public. Dagny, Galt and many other Windsor greys were part of a power point presentation I made before City Council 2 years ago where I successfully lobbied for two leash free (fenced in) dog parks. I'd like to offer you a suggestion you may not have thought of. If you use business cards, consider a brief 2 liner on the back that says "I support greyhound adoption...contact GRA (with phone number and web-link)". It's really amazing how many people I have been able to turn on to GRA this way.... Anyway, thanks Krissy for your great efforts in getting us up and "running"...I'm sure this forum is going to be a first place winner!

Krissy, we need more pictures of Hamlet. What a gorgeous boy!
I have a soft spot for Danes, too.

Hey Kris,
Therese here! It's been way too long since I've chatted with you! The site is absolutely fabulous! What fantastic changes :-)
Brin & Katz are doing excellent ~ maybe too excellent in retirement as they've gained a pound or two (or ten!) during retirement :-)
We should try to hook up again and get the pups together for a play date. We are way overdue!!
Give me a call or e-mail me and let's try to set something up.
BTW, a friend of ours that lives in your town just got a dane puppy a short while ago, Acero. You may have seen them around or know them.
