My neighbour's old dog died and I inherited a bottle of Glucosamine HCL (liquid formula) by UBA Vet.
Would it be a good idea to add this to Allie's food on a daily basis The maintenance dose for her weight is 4ml. per day.
She doesn't have any joint/bone issues yet (she's almost 5). Does anyone give this to their dogs as a preventative treatment?
Thanks.

Yup. Not that brand/format, but the idea is the same--attempt to head off problems before they are severe. Perry, now 14, had creaky knees as a 4 year old, so I started her on an MSM/Chondroitan/Glucosamine blend, and her knees still don't creak.

Yup both our pups, Tarra (10) and Max (6) get a glucosamine supplement as did Jack and Bonnie before them. We started the pups on something as soon as we got them as a preventative measure. We are using UBAvet Power MEG right now. I personally like the liquids over the powders but I don't think the pups care

We have both of ours ( 10 and 8) on Glucosamine Chondroitine. When we got Abby at 5 she would often cry out when she got up. For the 5 years since we have had her on it she very seldom seems to be in pain when she gets up.
