Does anyone have good technical instructions on how to teach stair climbing and descent? Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated.

We started with one person on the front and another on the back lifting the feet one at a time. We also put a treat a couple of steps up as incentive. Coming down we didn't have a problem with. Have patience. When they do it once they have got it.

We've had very good results with having a stair-savvy hound visit and show the newbie how it works. Also greyhound crack (dehydrated liver) on each step helps lol.

And have the person at the back keep some pressure on the hound with their thighs. That way, the dog can't fall backwards or whip around and jump down. Not to shove them, just to support and encourage them.

Well, we followed your instructions exactly and it worked beautifully! I was amazed. After one lesson she had the hang of it, and the descent was no problem at all. Thank you. This forum is wonderful.

I did the same with Ruby, I walked behind her and placed each paw one at a time on the first few steps and hey presto she'd got it. I was very pleased with her.
