We live in Ottawa but we're going to Toronto to spend Christmas with family on Dec. 22nd (weather permitting). I'm wondering if there are any walks planned on the Saturday or Sunday. I know it's almost Christmas and things will be crazy-busy for a lot of people, but we would love to take in a greyhound walk if there is one lined up. We'll be staying in North York, but can get almost anywhere.
Poor Doodles hasn't seen another greyhound since we adopted her in October ... she may be starting to think she is the only greyhound left in the world!!

We would love to have you join us at Norwood Park (Woodbine/Gerrard area) on the 24th.We have been meeting every Sunday at 12:00 noon. Not much walking though, the dogs are running a lot and us, people, stand around chatting. An occasional walk to clean up after our dogs!
It is a fully enclosed park and some of the other dogbreed owners are learning to come back another time; having their "pooch" chased by a pack of Greyhounds is not always so much fun for them. The Greyhounds love it!
Make sure you bring Doodles' muzzle and a coat if the weather turns "normal". Today it feels like spring.

We might be able to meet up with you on the 24th. We're in North York too so we could probably find a convenient place to meet.

Thanks Pashas_mom&dad and 3amigos.
We'll try to get to Norwood Park at noon on the 24th. I'm not familiar with Norwood ... is it a big park? Will it be easy to find you? Greyhounds do stand out in a crowd, so I'm thinking it shouldn't be too hard to spot the greyt group!
3amigos ... whereabouts are you? We'll be hanging out around Leslie and Finch, but are very familiar with North York as I grew up in the Yonge & Sheppard area. I'm not sure how to do the pm thing, but will be checking the forum from time to time.
I know there is always lots going on during the days leading up to Christmas, so if it doesn't work out for walks, I understand and hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday and New Years.

Norwood Park is just south of Gerrard east of Woodbine. It's a completely fenced-in park, not too large, but with plenty of space for all the greys to do some serious running. Other dog breeds and their owners tend to leave after a while; they just can't keep up. Hope to see you on Sunday.

We don't have much planned over the next few days.

We'll come for a walk! We're at Spadina & St. Clair and could come up to North York. Which park do you usually go to? Afternoon preferred.
I forgot to add "Tomorrow, Boxing Day"

Darn! Things got busy on Christmas and Boxing Day and I wasn't online until now ... and we're back in Ottawa! I'm sorry we missed a walk opportunity, but I hope you folks got out.
Marilyn, Joost and Pasha - it was great to meet you on Saturday. Thanks for the warm welcome. Doodles had a great time!
Happy New Year!

It was nice to meet you as well. Make sure you let us know the next time you come this way. The walk didn't happen unfortunately. It's such a busy time of the year.
Happy New Year to you and your family.

Every Sunday, you say? We were planning on making the trek tomorrow. Hopefully the fact that it's New Year's Eve won't deter people from heading out. Fingers crossed!
