Today I was so proud of Michel I just have to brag. . . . The police came to the door and Michel came down to greet them and immediately sat to be petted. I have worked so hard to get her to sit when people come in BEFORE anyone touches her -- she did it today without being told!!!!
I know, I know why were the police at my door -- well they found the bodies I hid. LOL Actually when I came home with Michel about 9:00 this morning my neighbours dog, Rigs, an intact, year old German Shepherd came running to his front door. I waited to say hello to his owner but the owner never showed up. Rigs came over to see me and then another neighbour came in and said she had seen the owner this morning but there were no cars about. I am not strong enough to handle Rigs plus I'm pretty unsteady today for some unknown reason, so another neighbour who has a bigger dog took Michel's leash and we took him home -- lo and behold their front door was open with marks on it. I went inside and called both their names -- no answer. The owner has a history of heart problems, two ambulance trips to hospital and one surgery, still smoking like a fiend. I called their house number and got no answer so called the property manager who should have had contact numbers for emergencies, and was told to call the police as a safety measure you know good old CYA. So the police came to my door and I took them to the house so Rigs would let us in because he knows me. But both officers were dog people. No one in the house so all's well that ends well. But makes a good story, don't you think. ha ha ha
The rest of the story -- spoke to the owner when they came home from work -- they figure whomever was the last one out of the house didn't close the door tightly and forgot to lock it and a strong gust of wind blew it open and Rigs went for a walk.
