strange question - but can the greys be given 1 or 2 raw eggs a day with their food? - i ask because when i was walking back to the house today with a bowl full of eggs (we live on a farm), rainy jumped up and couldn't wait to get an egg from me! - he ate most of it - shell and all! - before i got him away from it - i broke one over their dinner tonight and they both seemed to love it - is it ok for them?

I have a book called Natural Health for Dogs and Cats, most of their reciepes have 2 eggs in them. They say that even the shell is a great source of calcium. Not sure though how often it is recomended. Our Hope goes crazy for eggs, and the only time she begs is Sat/Sun breakfast!

Tigger loves hard boiled eggs... I always boil some up and leave them in the fridge, if he sees them he goes crazy... between that and wiggle cheese (cheese slices) he has a heart attack everytime we open our fridge!

I came home one day and Rob was feeding Hope chunks of 5 year old cheddar! There has also been a wedge of brie that mysteriously dissapeared. She loves Frittata for breakfast. Hope now has expensive taste.

You can give them the whole egg shell and all but I'm not sure I'd give them a couple per day. From what I've read and heard, many greyhound owners do 1-2/week. Lucky puppers getting Frittata for breakie! Ask Hope to bring along some of that 5 year old cheddar when she comes to stay at xmas!

I would keep an eye on any dog after feeding them hardboiled eggs for the first time.
About 15 min after we gave Biggles some eggs, he started wheezing, became completely lethargic, and developed big bumps all over his face. We thought he was going to die!
Rushed him to the emerg vet clinic down the street and she told us the symptoms were an allergic reaction to the eggs. She gave him a shot of Benadryl and something else, and an hour later he was fine again.
