So, we have had Merlin for 2 weeks now, and he has settled in nicely to the household so far. He is a very happy guy whose tail rarely stops wagging, and now that his initial anxiety about being in a new home is wearing off, his personality is really starting to come out. He is Tiana's half-brother (CTW Legendary was sire to them both), and we have noticed some similarities between the two of them...
- they both love to chew chew chew. Anything. Everything. Shoes are fun. So is wood. Baseboards, headboards, footboards, cupboards, stairs...
- they love to go shopping for stuffies in our daughter Nadia's room. Big stuffies are best. Her favourite bears dressed in special clothing from Build-A-Bear are preferable. It is even more fun if you try to steal them when she is asleep and lying on them at the time!
- they like to stalk anyone else who is outside with them. Apparently to do this, you must crouch down low to the ground and then run at full speed at the target and ambush him/her from the side. It is especially fun if the target is pooping at the time! (poor Willy and Rio....)
- they like to steal stuffies from whoever is playing with them. Merlin steals Rio's stuffie, Tiana steals it from Merlin and hides it, Merlin steals it back and hides it, Tiana steals it back and on it goes...
- they like to make nests out of any bedding that is lying around. This is done with precision and extreme concentration. Woe be it to anyone who then comes and "messes up" the nest!
- Tiana likes to bury her treats in her bedding. Merlin likes to find her treats and eat them. Tiana then pouts and looks pathetic until we give her another (which she then buries...). Merlin is a happy boy ;D
I am wondering if perhaps we should have given this more thought before we adopted a sibling?? Whatever does the future hold in store? ;D
