My mom has been living with us during the week for the last month helping out as I have been ill. Mayhem, who originally hated her in our last house has now fallen in love with my mom. I didn't realize just how much he understood our family dynamic relationship until yesterday. He was being a royal pain, doing things he knew he wasn't allowed to do but because I am bedridden I can't dicipline him properly. I have resorted to a spray bottle which he hates and runs from. Yesterday, Mayhem tried to get onto furniture he KNOWS he is not allowed on, I picked up the spray bottle and said "no!". Mayhem stopped dead, looked me straight in the eye and ran and hid under my mother's arm! Mom fell over laughing, apparently when I was a child and in trouble, I would run and hide behind my grandmother's skirts, safe from her, lol. Mayhem did exactly what I did as a child, hid behind grandma's skirts to escape my chastising, ROTFL. We are still laughing this morning about it.
