Cleo is gravely ill. We took her to the vet Friday morning because she was throwing up blood. They think she has a stomach bleed and her kidneys are not functioning right. She is on a continual IV drip trying to get her hydrated and flush her kidneys. By Saturday morning she had already had 4 bags. Her condition worsened overnight deficating blood too. We saw her today and her face and feet are swollen. It did not look like her. The next step is an xray to see if they can find anything. The vet said right now we can only pray she does not lose too much blood and her organs can hold on long enough for her to stabilize. Please pray for her... I will keep everyone updated Amy

We are so sorry to read that Cleo isn't well. We will keep her and both of you in our thoughts and prayers. This is one of the hardest times, when our wee ones are not well. Big hugs, be strong, Cleo.

The vets thinks she has kidney disease which causes the kidneys to not flush the system properly. This caused a build up of protein in her system. They figure this caused ulcers and that is the source of bleeding in either her stomach or upper intestines. If she can stop bleeding and her other organs han hold up the kidney disease could be dealt with by prescription foods and meds. Dave and I when to see her at the vet today. She was stable overnight with no more vomit or diarhea. Some of the swelling has gone down and her urine was clear which means the iv fluids are helping her kidneys flush her system. She had blood poos still but no diarhea. She had an xray today and her digestive track is clear and there is no obstructions. No objects in the stomach. She was fed a 1/4 can of food and she was very hungry and she drank too. As of 3 when we left she had kept the food down. The vet said her condition today is better than yesterday but she is still in very serious condition. We have a glimmer of hope but do not want to get our hopes up too much. Sometimes there is a temporary improvement before a crash...lets hope she is going to continue to improve. Amy
