Yup my Summer's a sheeder! All the time. We find the best way to help him shed is to use surgical gloves and rub him and scratch him and it just comes out in piles. It takes about 20 minutes to 1/2 hour and of course he just loves it. We have to do it every couple of weeks or we have hair floating everywhere. Les, Wanda and Summer

Yup, both mine are shedding now. I use a shedding blade and/or a rubber grooming mitt. I also have a Furminator, but it lives upstairs with the cats and I usually forget to take it outside.

My last greyhound shed all the time. I used to take him outside to brush him, but there was still so much of it in the house. Lots of vacuuming! I swore that the next dog I got would be a non-shedder. But I got another greyhound - and he barely sheds at all! So it varies from one dog to another.

Outta has phases where she'll shed quite a bit and other times hardly at all. Similar to Les, we use a regular dishwashing glove (I usually pick them up at the dollar store) and take her outside for a good rub down. Its easy and most of all Outta just laps up all the attention.

Cali is new in your home so she's probably just shedding out her kennel coat. They also have shed periods twice a year, Spring and Fall. With the thinner coat pups, you can barely notice, but with the thicker coats, wowee, you get a snowfall of fur. Our Atlas who has fluffy, soft fur, sheds mounds during Spring and Fall. I keep him brushed to help with my housekeeping. LOL

Normal, l it seems the darker colour get their shed over with in the spring and fall without persisting and those with large amounts of white seem to shed all summer, at least seems to be the pattern I have noticed

Two of our three dogs shed quite a bit. One boy, Dave actually has an heavy undercoat which he blew like a husky last summer!! Our other shedder, Jack, has no undercoat but has fine, soft bunny fur that sheds year-round.
