Dear Checker,
One year ago today, we had to carry on without you. As I remember holding you in my arms one last time, tears come to my eyes. You hold a very special place in our hearts. If I could be with you now, I would smother you with kisses and hugs. No dog has ever hugged me back the same way you did Checker. Somehow, when hugging you, all was right in the world. Be happy sweet Checker and know that you will always be in our hearts. Run free baby.... Love from Mommy, Daddy, Holling, Sadie, Emily and your new brother Frankie

I hope that Checker found my bridge boy Tex and that they are playing with stuffies and sharing the couch up there...

It's very hard to believe that a year has already gone by. I'm sure sweet Checker is smiling back at you from somewhere above.

I shared your sorrow yesterday. I'll never forget that day.
We miss you, too, Checker. You were one very special boy!

What a sad posting. It made me cry. I feel for you as we have been there and it is such a sad place to be. At least time helps it get better. He was a lucky boy to have been loved.

Keeping all of you in our thoughts on this sad day. Checker was the sweetest boy. He was blessed to be a special member of your family. Even though he and Heidi never met in life, I'm sure they are best friends over the bridge. They were a lot alike. Hold on tight to all your happy memories.

You were in our thoughts yesterday. I can't believe that its been a year.
Checker, you are missed by so many and I know that when you left this life on earth, you knew how much you were loved. And just a word of advice, Sullivan will eventually share his stuffies with you.

And just a word of advice, Sullivan will eventually share his stuffies with you. LOL, Checker only liked the teeny, tiny stuffies which were really Sadie's. I kept buying him special stuffies but he only wanted the little ones, so we went to Petsmart to get him the size of toy a miniature dog would play with. Cashiers got a real kick out of that LOL. "Is this for 'that' dog?" That's my Checker.
