Hi again -
I posted a few weeks ago, stating that Sal was getting better, well it must have just been a lucky few days. His big D is back, been back to the vet and they tell me that there is larvae in his stool still and that they think it has burrowed into his muscle. We have noticed some changes in his personality, but I suppose only having him a few months we don't know if some of the new ones are just because of the Hook, he's snappy or nippy, ravenous (even though he is getting plenty to eat). Don't get me wrong, we love him to bits, he is full of energy and has a great time playing with us and Cuz with stuffies and fetch(!) I have asked the vet if there will be any long term effects from this and he assures me "no", but that also it may take up to a year to get rid of it. The vet also contacted "Interceptor" and they suggested and Sal's vet concurs, that he should take his full dose every two weeks until the end of the warm weather and then once a month for a year. Interceptor is supplying one box of pills at n/c because of their guarantee but to be honest I would much rather just have a cure so my pupper doesn't have to suffer anymore, not to mention that my carpets won't even come clean anymore with professional cleaners because sometimes he just can't make it outside.
Sorry for being so long winded but I am getting desperate and worried and need advice. Should I be looking for another vet? I have suggested dewormers and even gone as far as to take in printed copies of other suggestions from the website that other grey owners have made and no luck. Any and all suggestions would be welcomed!
