Called my vet for a quote on x-rays and was told it would be about $300 !!! Then I called Ostrander to see if their prices were better and I was told they are not taking ANY new patients right now and for quite a while....... so who do I call now? Has anyone had x-rays done that didn't cost an arm and a leg?

I just looked back through my bills and the last x-ray I had done on one of my pack cost $90.00. I think that was for 1 x-ray and that was back in March. I don't know how convenient it is for you travel wise but I deal with and have dealt with the Norwich Veterinary Service for many many years and they also know greyhounds and have always been excellent with all of my dogs. Since you have called Ostrander I thought you might be willing to travel further afield.

As I said on GT, call them and say that you have one of Bill's dogs named Gibson. They'll already have him in the system

I agree with Jen on this one. If you can sneak your boy(s) into Ostrander it'll be worth it. I really enjoy dealing with them. I have dealt with three vets there and have been satisfied with their honesty and quality of care. We actually had Jack there yesterday (Wednesday) and they did an x-ray on one of his wrists. Not sure if vets have different rates depending on where the x-ray needs to be taken, but we were charged $35 (that's not a typographical error). It's amazing how the costs of vet care are so different depending on where you go!

I hope everything is okay with your boys. I hate hearing about vet visits especially where x-rays are involved. Did you call Staples???

It cost me about $400 for Echo to have 6 stitches put in her! They charged me a days boarding as well, because I had to bring her in on a Sunday!
