As i'm sure you all have been keeping up with the Flash Gordie news thought i would post this little bit of funny.
Ever since the accident Vayder (cat) has been strutting around the house with this "I've conquered death" attitude. a big change from his old "I'm an innocent shy kitty" routine.
This morning Gordie was lying in his crate minding his own business when Vayder walks up to him ... nose to muzzle ... hisses, poofs up and starts spitting. Gordie got up walked over Vay and went to lie on the sofa to resume his mid morning napping.
Vayder walked into the crate ... laid down ... waited a few minutes then walked out.
He walked up to Gordie ... sleeping on the sofa still minding his own business ... hiss, poof, spit.
Again Gordie got up and walked away to the love seat.
Vayder proceeded to jump on the sofa where Gordie had been sleeping laid there then went over to the love seat. ahain with the hiss, poof up, spit routine.
Gordie got off his spot and came over to me with this look on his face like "Where the heck should i sleep now"?
Seems like the 15 pound kitty is getting into the habit of bossing Gordie around.

Message from Bill:
"I wonder if you will think it is so funny when Gordie finds his opportunity and destroys the pest that is tormenting him. Mark my words...IT WILL HAPPEN under the present conditions. You were warned about this several posts ago but obviously you have chosen not to listen when you ask for advice. WHEN the inevitable happens you will have nobody to blame but yourself."

I have to admit I am of the same mind as Bill on this. I am not sure how it is cute and funny for the cat to behave this way without a verbal correction but if Flash was to do it he would be physically corrected.
Why would you allow your cat into your dogs "Safe Zone", Would you let a child "hang out" in a dog crate?
I am trying to sit back and logically think as to why this would be ok and I am coming up with no answer.

I'm going to third the sentiment. We introduced Araley to cats with my parents' cat as he is the most friendly while still standing up for himself. He gave her claw-free swat when she got too frisky but that was that. We then introduced her to my boyfriend's mother's cats and one took a hating to her. We taught Araley to stay away from that cat but also the cat to not hiss unless Araley was invading her space. The hissing when she was far away got Araley's attention and made her WANT to investigate....I can't imagine what would have happened if kitty had come over to hiss.
I think you should be separating kitties and Gordie as much as possible and supervising interactions, correcting both sides. I'd hate to see him returned because Vayder was allowed to taunt as much as I'd hate to hear that Vayder was dead or seriously hurt.
