I can't believe I'm posting about this.
The Toronto greyhound community has lost a great friend today. I met Susan Anderson years ago through this GRA forum, where she was known as Sandysfarm. She brought her greyhound Echo to come and stay at Camp Greyhound, and a friendship was born, as often happens with our clients. Many times over the years I would refer people to Sue if they had dog reactive greyhounds, or statuing greyhounds, or some other problem and she would help them. Susan did clicker training for dogs and was also an accomplished acupressure practitioner. She also assessed dogs to be therapy dogs. And she was a very successful real estate agent in North York. She was also a gifted artist and art teacher, and had a studio where she taught up and coming artists. A few years back she took all her students to Italy to paint for a month. She was eclectic in her gifts, which was one of the things I loved about her. She was also great with the zingers and had little patience for those doing stupid things with greyhounds. A truly authentic soul. I will miss my friend Sue, a true original. My thoughts are with Ross and Sue's son David as they try to deal with this cruel blow. Her greyhound Echo, her border collie Sydney and her little Golden Bella will be lost without their Mom, who was much too young to leave. See you again one day, dear Sue.

I am in shock. I didn't meet Susan, but we had corresponded through the Forum.
What a tragic loss. My heart goes out to her family, friends, and dogs.

OMG what a shock to hear this. I had met Sue once but knew her more for her comments on the forum. I always considered her to be a brilliant woman who was well versed on greyhound behaviour and other dog issues, to mention a few. She used to make me laugh with some of her outspoken comments as you knew her patience was being challenged by someone's stupidity.
My sincere condolences to her family, including her dogs. Sue's passing is definitely a tragic loss.

This is so sad. While I never met Sue in person, she would exchange a message from time to time. Tara is here with me now and she is the littermate to one of Sue's greyhounds. I will message Tara's mom with this very sad news. Thank you for sharing. M

I can't believe this. I am so sorry to hear bout Sue's passing. From years on the forum I quickly learned that she was very knowledgable about greys and about dogs in general. She was always generous in sharing her wealth of information with those that sought her out. I am so, so sorry to learn about her passing.

I have read Sandysfarm's posts with great interest and tremendous respect for her keen understanding of greyhound (and dog in general) behavior. I truly have learned so much in doing so. I now wish that I could say 'thank you Susan' for your love of this breed. We have benefited so much from your wisdom. May you be greeted and surrounded by the angels that have gone before. My sincere condolences to family, pups, and friends.

Good bye to a wonderful lady. Your advice and answers/comments to questions will be sorely missed by all. Although sometimes abrupt and very pointed, they always showed your love and devotion to these wonderful animals as well as your depth of knowledge. Thank you Sue for everything over the past decade with GRA. Dod bless you, my dear.

There will be a reception at Mt. Pleasant visitation centre this coming Friday from 5-8pm. I will be there, although right now I'm not sure of my exact timing.

how heartbreaking. I always loved reading Sue's posts, for their wisdom, and the chuckle I got as I read her attempts to be patient with people whom I would have lost patience with long before. Her family, friends and pups must be missing her very much. so very sad...
