Hopefully the warmer temperatures will bring more people in to adopt those sweet boys. It's nice to see that some more of them have found homes. Lanny and our family wish that the rest of them will find cozy beds and warm hugs in new homes soon.

Fingers crossed here too. Just so thrilled to see them find their match. Hoping that the season also brings a little more activity here on the Forum as I really think it is a great resource format for new families contemplating and researching prior to adoption. ...(and to all that are... you are making an incredibly wonderful decision!!)

I am sure that as soon as the Robin chirps there will be all those who have been hibernating through this nasty winter will come out in full force to check out the pups at the kennel. It won't be long before these beautiful pups will find their Forever Homes.

I always love hearing about the new pups in their forever homes, and seeing the pictures of them as they adapt to their new lives! Now that the warmer weather is here, I am sure more people will venture out...

I have an appointment for April 4 . . . looks like a bunch were adopted in the last week, though. Now I'm afraid they'll all be gone by then! Is that a reasonable fear, do you think? Should I attempt to reschedule for earlier?
Also, I do plan on using the forum as a resource and I am glad it exists. I'm lucky enough to know some other people with greyhounds, including a couple who got theirs from GRA, so I have had a lot of good advice so far.

Hi Bigsleeps, I understand your concern and I am sure others will chime in. When I went to get Lanny there were several dogs that I was looking at online that got adopted before I could get there and most of them were still in the kennel when I went to pick my pup. I thought that I would see one that was already adopted and wished I had got there sooner but when I met my Lanny all concerns dropped away, he picked me and my family and I picked him even though he wasn't even on my list of dogs I was interested in seeing...I never even got another dog out of its crate to meet, as Lanny was just meant to be a member of our family. I think if you find the right dog it doesn't matter if they are the only one left to be adopted or if there are twenty others there for you to look at. I suggest going when the time is right for you and if you don't find the right one at that visit then wait and go back when another delivery comes in...but just because a dog is one of a few that several have overlooked doesn't mean anything other than perhaps that pup was just waiting for you!!! Good luck in your search and welcome to the GRA family, the forum is full of greyt advice and the group here offers fantastic support, enjoy your greyhound journey Be sure to post when you do adopt your pup, we love to see and hear about the pups in their new homes.

There is a few beautiful hounds available still. I'm so in love with Redwood and Hallis. April the 4th is just around the corner and whoever is left to chose from may just be your match! . They have been waiting all winter! Good luck.. If you don't have a match I'm sure new dogs will be arriving soon. I so hope the ones who have been waiting all Winter find they spots first!

Hi Bigsleeps ... welcome to the forum. As Troysmom said there are still some really beautiful hounds at the kennel ... they haven't been adopted yet through no fault of their own. It could be simply a choice in color, sex, whether the hound is cat safe, not everyone wants to adopt in the winter, etc. You can walk the hounds out to the lake spending some individual time with them so you'll get a feeling of what each one is like. And Heather or Tisa will be more then happy to help offer information, advice, etc. The kennel will probably be getting more hounds in due time so I would keep your appointment ... maybe give Heather a call or email her towards the end of March just to make sure there are hounds at the kennel. Wishing you luck .... I know you won't be disappointed. Please keep us posted.

Bigsleeps, welcome to the greyt community! Since your appointment is coming up soon, I would love to recommend Raphael and Star! I have a thing for cow doggies. My Nina is a cow doggie. And Raphael looks so similar to Nina. Plus, from all the pictures I see on GRA facebook page, both Raphael and Star look like super happy boys. Of course, other boys are all perfect too! I hope you will find the one! Best luck on your appointment!
