In celebrating a wee bit of family roots tonight, Joker and Light want to say "Happy Burns Day" to All!! Joker is generally quite photo-shy but caught a smile today. Maybe the words "taste of haggis?" triggered a grin from Mr. McJoker And after she had had enough celebrating, Lassie Light was in Burn-out mode... To everyone... from our home to yours... "Lang may yer lum reek!!" (translation: "Long may your chimney smoke"...or..."wishing you well, warmth, success")

Happy "Burns" Day to Mr. McJoker and Lassie Light and her family. I love their tartan collars, so appropriate for the occasion. Just curious, but have they tried Haggis? And the last line you wrote .... what does it mean because I'm sure it's not what I'm thinking!! Greyt photos of your two black beauties.

And the last line you wrote .... what does it mean because I'm sure it's not what I'm thinking!!. HaHa!!...In reading this again outright, I agree...needs translation!! It is a Scottish toast or well-wish, often used on Hogmanay / New Year's that literally means ..." Long may your chimney smoke", or... " Wishing you well, warmth, and success". As for the Haggis...just a little taste. I bought a canned version (for tradition only).. I will not be eating it (lol) - lamb heart, liver, oats, etc. with no preservatives added.

"Lang may yer lum reek!!" I'm so happy you translated this because I thought (excuse me please) it had something to do with "passing gas"!! And I had no idea you could buy Haggis in a can!!
Sending you well wishes on this special day .... "Long may your chimney smoke" ......
