It has been four months since Rupert joined our family, and he has certainly helped to heal the hole that Velvet's passing left behind. Scarlet stopped hiding out in our bedroom the moment Rupert came home (except during thunderstorms or invasions of too many little people!) and she will even play with Rupert in the backyard sometimes! Almost half of the pictures we have of these two they are touching or snuggling. Rupert is the most affectionate and cuddly greyhound I've ever met. Whether it's a gentle lean while I'm standing or walking, or laying his head and neck across mine like a scarf, he loves to snuggle. We get gentle roos from him every morning as we get ready to head out, and happy smiles when he's excited. He's been an absolute joy to have with us.

Sounds like Rupert is a match made in heaven. I love to read how these pups amazingly find their way to the perfect home and family... how they mend broken hearts and add so much joy. Thanks for sharing.

It's always so wonderful hearing how adoptions help heal the adoptive family as well.

What a lovely update and cute pics too! I find the boys can be super snuggly, which I love! Rupert sure did hit the jackpot, what was his name at the kennel?

"Only Love Can Mend A Broken Heart" and Rupert has proven that. What a wonderful way to start your day - a big hug, and a rooing good morning.

That's wonderful to hear! Who doesn't love a cuddler, lol. How long we wait before adopting again is very personal, but I think there's no better way to honour a bridge angel than to give your love and home to another houndie.

It sounds like the whole family healed after Rupert's arrival ... but I know in your heart, Velvet will always be with you. Rupert sounds like the perfect boy bringing sunshine and love into your lives and I'm sure Scarlet agrees, having a new brother join her family.

So wonderful to hear Rupert has brought new life to your house. Him and Velvet look very close in those pics.

Renee, so happy to hear of the healing that Rupert has brought to all of you. We can't wait to meet him finally, when we can make it up to a run one day. In the meantime, enjoy! Hugs to all of you! Janette, Harold and the Quints.
