To all future adopters, some words of wisdom from somebody who is approaching her 1 year anniversary of greyhound ownership.
Something happens to you. It happens slowly, and then all at once. You become obsessed with these pooches. You will start to buy things. You want to own greyhound related items, read greyhound related literature and articles, you will make friends with people just based on your affection for these hounds.
Greyhounds have a gravitational pull greater than any black hole is space, so be prepared to get sucked right in. But be sure that it is the best feeling in the entire universe!
On that note, today I bought Renny an ugly Christmas sweater, and plaid pajamas. What has happened to me. Haha.

WOW!!!! You said it. We have had a variety of dogs all our lives (they always seemed to come in two's) for over thirty years and if I had to start over again the only breed would be GREYHOUNDS - they just take over your heart.

LOL....oh the collars and sweaters. And just when you think you have enough pillows they come out with the slumberball beanbag bed for dogs.

Very true!! Having greyhounds in my life has completely changed me. I even started sewing again and started a business with a friend making martingales, coats, all sorts of things! I NEED greyhound statues, plaques, bracelets or ANYTHING with these doggies on, in, or around it. I stopped reading my RSS feeds with news, CNN etc in lieu of reading GRA here or on FB, Greytalk, ANY greyhound related thing. It is CRAZY how they infiltrate our lives to the extent they do! But I would not trade one tiny thing about it, EVER! Well, except picking up poop from the yard in sub zero temps.. that I could happily get rid of as long as my doggies and everything else stayed!

I am similarly afflicted. I'd be embarrassed to tot up all the hours I've spent drooling over these dogs on rehoming sites and the jewellery, statues, collars, coats etc etc etc. I have happily spent hours sewing on 60 gems and sequins onto one coat and that's just one amongst many I've decorated.

Could not have said it better myself. Strange hold they have over us and I swore it would not happen to me. Thanks for posting you have warned people, now it's up to them if they take the plunge.
