Hi all! I'm to this forum, and kind of new to the Greyhound world as well. We tried out the lure coursing event at pawlooza last weekend and my hound absolutely LOVED it. I've noticed there's an association that puts of lure coursing events however, we're leaning away from the competitive events and want to do it for fun. I'm wondering if anybody knows about or has a lure coursing track around London that can be used for Greyhound parents to watch their kids run around?

There is one here in Essex county. However, I would not recommend it and the people that own the lure course have decided not to allow greyhounds since apparently they are prone to breaking the back of the wrist. It is a common injury in racing and nobody wants to see their dog hurt. A friend of mine who is a vet tech, greyhound owner and canine professional, let her girl run non-competitively and leisurely. Her houndie came back with a broken leg and it was a straight shot course, no real bends. If the course is not set up perfectly for these dogs, issues can occur and even if set up perfectly, it is too risky imo. I wanted to run my doggies but after seeing the results, it is not worth it to me. I will just let them run with greyhound pals at the local dog park or, far better, make it up to a Hound Haven play date!
