Hey everyone,
Just wondered if anyone has some advice as I'm pretty worried. My 4 year old Mickey woke up this morning with a limp and is barely putting any pressure on his hind right leg. Reading about a spontaneous limp on the internet is terrifying. He doesn't appear to have any corns or any obvious injury. I booked a vet appointment for this morning. Any one else experience this? Should I have waited a few days to see if it gets any better? And is osteo as common as the internet makes it seem? I've only had him for a few months and he has seemed playful, happy and healthy so far.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jimmy and Jade

Good Morning Jimmy and Jade:
Yes, we have experienced what Mickey is going through and I am happy to see that you are doing the right thing by getting Mickey to the Vet this a.m. I know that your vet will be doing all sorts of testing on Mickey and if he suggests that you get an X-ray, please do not hesitate and get the X-ray. I know that it is expensive but it is worth it. Please keep us posted.

First I would ask you to take a deep breath and please, reading on the internet can be absolutely overwheming and can have our loved ones, fur kind or human kind dead and buried as of yesterday! It can be darn right terrifying some of the things we read. I am not suggesting you don't have a problem but it could be something small. Is it at all possible that Mickey jammed a toe or banged his ankle? Sometimes you won't see any swelling at first glance but if you look really closely you might see a small bump. I ask this because I have recently experienced both of these scenarios in the past couple of weeks. Take a really good look and try to ice (I know, not the easiest thing to do with some dogs) the paw that is affected. If you ice, be sure to wrap in paper towel or tea towel, not putting the ice pack directly on the paw. Just my two cents worth, please keep us posted on Mickey. M
