My two Greys seem to do a lot of licking of bedding, the couch etc. Is this normal or a sign of some deficiency? There are times where fairly large wet spots result....Anyone experience something similar?

It's perfectly normal I read in a dog book that when a dog licks its bedding it is a comforting, soothing thing. They are marking their scent. Most of the time when I see my kids do it, they will put their face on the wet spot afterwards. I don't regret getting a leather couch for this reason. Atlas likes to lick the entire arm and then lay in it. However, Icarus makes a horrible sound when his noise rubs against the leather as he's licking it... kind of a "fingernails on the chalk board" sound. You wouldn't believe how many times I've been woken up because Icarus is licking my bed and back at the same time in his sleep!

Ohhhh goodness YES! Honey will lick, and lick, and lick the bedding, or couch, or my pillows on the couch. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten into bed, and yelped and jumped a foot when I hit the cold wet lickydrooly spot! yeesh.

Agree. Same in my household. It is annoying when 4 large dogs do it at the same time - let's say about 2am? All you hear is "..slush, slush, slush..." but yes, it is their happy, comfy zone. Krissy
