Does anyone else's greyhound go crazy over dryer sheets? Gigi is just nuts about them. We've had her for about 2 1/2 years and she has NEVER gotten into anything, or chewed up anything except dryer sheets. If she finds one in the wastepaper basket, or anywhere, she can't resist it. We left her at someone's house the other day for about an hour and she actually went up some very narrow, steep stairs to take a dryer sheet out of their laundry basket! She took it back to her blanket and shredded it, just as she does at home in her beds there. She doesn't eat them, just rips them up. It is just too cute! Is it just her, or is it a greyhound thing?

I have a borzoi who loves used q=tips and would go through the bathroom garbage looking for them. We always knew when she'd been in the bathroom because she'd leave a trail of kleenex. Since we stopped putting q=tips in the garbage, there's no more kleenex on the floor either.

We read somewhere that the dryer sheets aren't safe for greyhounds can't remember exactly why, but then again we also read that if you take a dryer sheet and rub it over their body it is supposed to help repel mosquitoes.

That is too cute. Go Gigi! No pics? Could be worse though. We had to break Atlas of a dirty underwear (stolen from the laundry basket) and soggy toilet paper (he liked to go fishing) fetish. I'm so glad he's too lazy to bother anymore.

I believe that the concern is not so much that they are immediately dangerous, but that they're full of chemicals. Some people are loathe to do anything (fertilize grass, use dryer sheets) that expose their animals to chemicals. I've also read that dryer sheets help with the static on jammies and coats (rubbing the fabric, not the animal), but I didn't find it all that helpful.

I don't have any photos of Gigi with the evidence as I confiscate the dryer sheets when first sighted. However, I do have a favourite photo of the silly grinning kangaroo girl...hopefully I can post it - I've not tried this before...

That is the cutest picture! It made me laugh out loud. On the dryer sheet front, our Rocky seems to have a thing for the dryer lint, but not the sheets. If he can get to the garbage can in the laundry room, he steals the whole pile of lint that's been cleaned off the filter! I'm loving these strange habits of these amazing dogs....
