We adopted Coco Cora 15 days ago, and she is settling in nicely. Like siblings, she and Hachiko sometimes grumble and growl at each other but then they're back to being best buddies within a minute. The one exception occurs when they are jockeying for extra real estate in the back seat, and that argument usually lasts an exciting 5 minutes. The two brindles have matching cushions and collars, and today, they earned matching medals. After such a short time in retirement, the two girls made a comeback this morning in a local race organized by the Humane Society and called "3k Companions Dog Run." Despite no distance speed training and dragging their slow owners, both Hachiko and Coco did a greyt job. As soon as the race started, something must have clicked inside, as they went from standing still to a full sprint in the blink of an eye. They've been sleeping ever since with their legs twitching, so they must be dreaming of winning next year's event. In the pictures, you will see Coco's first day with us, the girls' first nap together, and a proud moment with their medals.

Coco is the lighter brown grey, and Hachiko is a little darker. Here is a picture of the two sleeping after the big race, Coco enjoying her cushion, and a comparison picture of Hachiko enjoying her cushion shortly after coming to live with us about a month earlier. Attachments:

Congratulations on adopting Coco! The two brindles look so cute together on their respective beds. As troysmom stated, they do seem proud of their medals - bet they rally put on a show at the race! Can't wait to hear more of their adventures together.

Lovely photos. If it had been me I'd have ended up face first in the grass!

Congratulations on the addition of Coco Cora to your family! Absolutely beautiful 'sisters'!! It certainly looks like she and Hachiko are getting along famously!! They look so proud of their medals... well done! (I am sure there were a lot of awe-struck bystanders taking photos of that competition! )
