I will be bringing Kingfisher home in a few days and he will be meeting my cat Ollie. To my knowledge a muzzle is provided for Fisher. Is this muzzle the one he can eat and drink while wearing? Is there different types of muzzles for different purposes? Where can I buy these muzzles and or any grey merchandise (ie. coats)? Are there standard sizes or is it something you have fitted? I am knew at having a grey in my life, so there is a lot I need to learn. Your help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Cindy (getting very excited

Hey Cindy! The muzzle that will be provided with your greyhound will allow him to drink, but I'm not sure about eating (maybe dry food?) There are other varieties of muzzle, I'm not sure about the different purposes though. (hopefully someone here can answer better than me about that) As for other merchandise, I love shopping Etsy stores! We got Dutch a fleecy coat and cooling jacket from here - www.chillydogs.ca/ (Cooling jacket is a LIFESAVER for hot days!) Collars from here- www.etsy.com/ca/shop/HuggableHoundRaincoat and wool coat from here - www.etsy.com/ca/shop/AcmeCouture (100% recommend the rain coat!!!) There are so many stores dedicated to greyhound merch on Etsy =D I'd wait till you can measure him before ordering though, many of the coats require measurements. This is a chart I made for Dutch to remember his measurements without having to bring out the measuring tape again, (the measurements on the neck, chest and waist are the circumference around those areas, I realized my arrows look like I'm measuring from top to bottom, not all the way around) Just take out the numbers of mine and fill yours in=) I'm glad you're getting excited! I can't wait to see photos!!!!

What an exciting time! Your life will never be the same, it's a wonderful thing to bring a greyhound home! There is no lack of vendors to try for your new baby, some are listed on this forum in a different section. Others are online, Ebay is a good source too. More and more we are seeing greyhound stuff in pet stores, but martingales are still hard to find, at least in my neck of the woods. Everyone has their favorite vendors, so you'll be seeing lots posted in this thread. Your hound will come with a muzzle, but if you find you want a softer one we do carry muzzles that I import from the UK that are soft and squeezable but will not permit your new hound to get toothy with any residents, while letting him drink. Talented hounds can eat through a muzzle, but very slowly. Here's a link - we also carry coloured muzzles that are soft. Camp Greyhound WebstorePlease do be sure to check out my article on introducing your hound to your kitty. Cat Training Your GreyhoundCongratulations on adopting Kingfisher!

I love your clever idea of taking the measurements once and writing them down. I'll now be doing that too.

Hey guys, just wanted to mention that I purchased a rain coat from a Canadian company called Tootlewear. They are fast, make great quality merchandise, and the customer service is great. To top it all off, they give a discount for "rescues" or retired racers. You should check them out - they're on etsy, or you can google them to find their web page.

For collars I found this wonderful girl from Windsor who sells them at a very reasonable price: $24 for a 2" martingale! Her store name is Collar Town and she is on Facebook.
