I guess it's better late than never!!
I adopted Lucy (MRK Catwoman) back in November 2012 and Poppy (JD Center Stage) less than 2 weeks ago on June 21st.
Lucy was my first greyhound, in fact, my first dog (I've moved up from cats and rabbits!). She is a total goof! She does some crazy, silly things that make you laugh so hard it's impossible to ever get mad at her. She's obsessed with food and squeaky toys and is always carrying a stuffed squirrel around. Over the past 8 months she has kept us entertained with her antics and I can't imagine life without her.
Ever since Lucy came home we thought it would be nice for her to have a companion, so when we went to the picnic the plan was to "look" at the adoptables to see if there was anyone that was a good match for our girl. Off to the barn we went! With all the commotion going on in the barn there was a sweet little red girl just laying quietly looking around in her crate. I took her out for a walk with Lucy and it was like they had always been together. They were walking in sync and then Lucy laid her head on Poppy's back. Two weeks later Poppy was home!
Poppy is quiet and cuddly and a bit of a spook. Since she's only been home a little over a week we haven't really seen her true personality just yet but everyday she's building her confidence with the help of Lucy and is a wonderful addition to the family.
Now we have 2 happy tails to greet us at the door!
And now pictures!
First up is Lucy:
Her first day home. She may look very sweet and innocent here but she is quite mischievous and has since shredded that bed and toy!
Ears! I think she was looking at a nice little white fluffy dog here.
She enjoys a good dig...
Practicing her balance
Why must you do these things to me?!
Squirrel Heaven
some tongue
Poppy:
Such a happy girl
yuck!
And lastly the girls together:
Relaxing in the backyard
Happy together
