It is with a heavy heart that I post this announcement. Our pride and joy-Crispin-died on Monday April 15th after a short battle with histiocytic sarcoma. He received amazing care from the vets at the Ontario Veterinary College Animal Cancer Centre during his radiation treatments and several rounds of chemotherapy. Our local vets at Oakridge Animal Clinic in London were so supportive as well and helped us implement all of our care decisions to maintain a high quality of life. When Crispin first arrived at his forever home, he was so nervous and unsure of himself, timid & shy. However it did not take long for his personality to emerge once he realized he was safe in his surroundings with people who loved him. He epitomized the "strong, silent type" and was such a joy to have around. He loved his daily car rides, frolicking in the water, and of course running around in our yard. It is fitting that his last day was spent doing all of those things before he died in my arms looking up at the sun on his favourite spot laying in the grass in the backyard. We take great comfort knowing that he is now back playing with all of the other greyt angels. The memories we have of our time with him will endure and we are better people for having him in our life. Take care Crispin, you know that you will always be loved. Here he is running in March The floppy ear-his most endearing quality! Having fun on a boat ride

Our heart aches for the loss of your precious Crispin. What a regal boy - I am sure he has come from the "Gable" lineage. He is now free to run like the wind but it is unbelievably hard on those he left behind. Thank you for sharing magnificant photos of Crispin. R.I.P. Sweet Angel

I'm so sorry for your loss of Crispin. What a beautiful hound he was and he looks so happy in your pictures. Those pictures are gorgeous!
They enrich our lives and it is so hard when they leave us. But he and all the other bridge angles never really go away as they are always with us forever.
RIP Crispin

I am so very sorry. He certainly was a stunning boy as seen in his photos. Crispin's life with you may have been short but those years were his best years, a time he knew he was loved and safe. He will be running with the Bridge Angels now but his spirit will always be with you.
Godspeed sweet Crispin .....

My heart breaks everytime I see a new name added to the bridge. Your pictures show how happy you made Crispin and he in return, gave you happiness and love back. He was a very handsome boy. The memories you made together will forever live in your heart. R.I.P. Crispin

I love your description of Crispin as the "strong, silent" type. We all need someone like that in our lives.
Your boy is beyond handsome. He is one of the most gorgeous hounds I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing those amazing photos.
His happiness shines through in the images. You were very lucky to have found each other. I hope that over the coming weeks and months you can focus on the love and happiness you shared and less on the loss. I know it's easy to say but hard to do.
Take care.
