Hello, Just adopted my first retired greyhound and wondering if there any recommended fenced in parks/areas in Guelph and if there are any greyhound groups in the Guelph area. Look forward to hearing from you, Sue and Xanadu

Thanks. It is very exciting. Will post pictures soon. She is so calm and quiet, I can't believe it. We went to an off leash dog park and I kept her on a leash of course. When approached by other dogs off their leashes she became anxious and growled and snapped at them. It was a bit scary. I kept her on a short leash and had to pull her back a few times. I assume that over time she will get more used to other breeds and not be so afraid. Look forward to an exciting and rewarding adventure with Xanadu.

In Guelph, sadly there are no appropriately fully fenced dog parks. In Action, there is a Greyhound Hour on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 2:00 at Fairy Lake. The wonderful dog park is behind the soccer arena and tennis courts.

I frequent Acton often and have 2 greyhounds. If anyone is interested in picking a weekend to meet at that time, I'm in. This weekend is not good but generally I'm around on weekends to go.

Hi, We live in Guelph and we run in St Jacobs with several other dogs. It is at a park just behind Picard's Peanuts. After the roundabout turn left right away. Usually Saturday am around 9:30. Join the WAGG group on facebook.

Hi guys, I'm checking out the ball diamond behind Bishop Macdonnell high school this afternoon, apparently one of the fields is appropriately fenced in! Our new guy loves being outside and I'm really hoping to give him a chance to stretch his legs, in a field so close to our house!

Darn, the diamonds were locked up and there was a 'no dogs' sign as well. Looking into Acton now!

There's a baseball diamond right in exhibition park that is the same. Fully fenced in and gated, but signs at every gate saying no dogs. Too bad. I hope to try to get Innis used to being in the car, he's not happy about it right now. So once he's settled, I'm sure he would love to join in some play time at one of these fabled fully fenced parks. Also, tried joining the WAGG group on facebook, a week or so ago, haven't heard anything back yet. Maybe soon.

Yes, you might want to look onto WAGG - Waterloo Area Greyhound Group. They meet at masters n hounds, not too far off of one of the 401 Cambridge exits. Great location and lovely group. River and I can't go running until March when she is 100% healed, but going to a WAGG run was what convinced me I should get a greyhound Sent from my SGH-I747M using proboards
