The meatloaf is a hit. I didn't add the full amount of flour. Not sure why there is so much of it in the recipe. I only used maybe 3-1/2 cups (a mixture of rice and millet flour), and about 3-ish cups of water. I did add 1/4 cup of nutritional yeast since I use it already and had it on hand, as well as about 1/4 cup of milled flax seed, again since I already had it. I couldn't find the small mini loaves so I bought the small pot pie dishes instead at the dollar store, which worked fine so he had 2 pies for supper. He's now a happy boy!

I make the meat loaf from "dogs we love" that Redhead posted. I've been making it for 6 years now and my dogs love it.
A bit of a pain to make so I make huge batches of it at once, really smells up the house. The meat is a combo of organ\muscle and now that my butcher has closed I need to find another supplier in Brampton area that will grind the two together. I make a drive to Orangeville and buy a few box's of the powder to last me for a while.
Anyway, my guys love it. Makes the fur very silky. Hope it makes Josh's bear bottom disappear soon.

Do you use the 8 to 9 cups of flour the recipe calls for?
Finn loved it and I think it will be a good addition to his diet, he eats raw so I don't have to worry about adding organs and such to the meatloaf. Not sure I'd even wanna know what that would smell like cooking. LOL

Yes, I follow the recipe exactly from dogs we love. It uses 10 cups of their powder. I add the 1 cup white potato, sweet potato, collards and apple to mine. It says 2-3 eggs and I always use 3. As I said, my boys love it.
The website breaks all the ingredients down for you.

Sounds great. I don't want to buy their powder so I suppose a mix of whatever flour/grains you have on hand will work, especially if this isn't their main nutritional source.

That's what I did, just use flour that I had on hand. Since I am have to eat gluten-free I have a large variety of flours on hand to use. That's another reason I didn't use so much of the flour. When I was mixing it and adding the flour 8 to 9 cups would have given me a doughy paste. For veggies I pureed green beans and carrots, which he has had before and did fine with. He kept going back to his bowl after to see if there was more and I had given him a little more than he normally would have gotten for supper, so I'll take that as a good sign.

The meatloaf is my guys main food source so I buy the powder to make sure I give them the nutrients needed. I also make sure I use the organ\muscle meat mix.
In any event, I think what your suggesting works since you are also giving raw.
Not sure how much water you add, that recipe calls for 7-8 cups. Mine never ends up as a doughy paste. I think you just might need to experiment to get the right mix. It also has the 2/3 cup of sunflower oil.

It`s a great recipe that I will be making often, and I`m sure different each time, mostly with the flours I have on hand. What spoiled hounds we have. LOL
