I can't begin to imagine how I'm going to write this . My heart shattered into a million pieces earlier today as I had to say goodbye to yet another one of my babies. I'm thankful for the numbness tonight. Toby is the 3rd hound I lose since Sept 29th. We ran a urinalysis two weeks ago and found very high levels of protein and bilirubin. Ran blood work shortly after that which told us Toby's liver was starting to fail. He was rallying though so we put him on high protein food to replace what he was losing and kept a good eye on him. Shortly after that he started to develop abscesses all over, 7 in total. Put him on some good strong antibiotics and they were healing well. On the weekend he started limping and I also saw a huge loss in muscle mass on his hind quarters. Today he went in for an xray and we found out he had Osteo throughout his hips. It was time to let him go. He passed peacefully with his head in my daughter's lap. He was with us for 6.5 years and we loved him so. Here he is with Dora on the day we picked him up at the picnic in 06. He adjusted to retirement very quickly! Here he is with my daughter Christina's dog Butch Just a lazy Sunday morning in jammies. I'll take that treat now please!! This one was taken a couple of weeks ago enjoying some time in the backyard. Run free my sweet boy with your sister Dora and your brothers' Joe and Lightnin and all the other hounds waiting for you at the bridge. We love you.

There are no words. Losing three hounds in such a very short time is unbelievable.
Our thoughts are with you. Take care of yourself.
p.s. Our boy Max, Tahoe Nights/Hopkins, your ever grateful hound friend from the kennel, sends you his love.

There will be an unreal feeling today... a somber emptiness in your home. I am so sorry to hear about Toby, and cannot imagine how heartbreaking these past few months have been losing three of your dear companions. I only pray that this Christmas season can bring you comfort in it's warm memories and reflections. Toby was, and always will remain, your beautiful hound. Godspeed handsome fellow.

I'm so very sorry. You've endured far too much loss in far too short a time, and my heart goes out to you and Mary. I know you and your puppers will miss Toby terribly.
Godspeed Toby.

I wish I had the words to bring you comfort right now....saying sorry just doesn't seem to be enough. I can only imagine your pain at having to say goodbye to another of your beautiful babies in such a short space of time. I know you are carrying them with you in your heart whereever you go...they will always be with you, and hopefully in time your tears will give way to smiles as you remember the happy times you shared with your special pups.
hugs to you and your daughter now and in the days to come.
Run like the wind with the other Angels, Sweet Toby.

I am so very sorry for your loss. He looked like such a happy guy. I bet you he is making all the other houndies that were waiting for him very happy right now, with that great grin.
