Has anyone had success with booties to wear outside? If so, what brand and where are they available for purchase. My Awesome did a number on his front paw pads this past weekend while running on a frozen field.
Thanks! Karen

neopaws, we use them for Moves bc the pavement aggravates her amputated toe. Pretty durable, a bit on the pricey side. We have used them almost everyday since end of may and they are still intact

We use a special ointment for the paws. Usually it's for The hunting dog but Italie works Well for her. She can't stand the booties

I bought Slappy's last year on line from www.dozenbooties.com/ They are held on with velcro strips and I liked that you get 12 so if one wears out you have back ups. Slappy will tolerate having them on and walks rather funny in the house but once we are outside he has great confidence and no more bloody paws from ice

They have stayed on just fine, even when walking through deeper snow. They have elasticized velcro straps that go around the leg to keep them on. We don't have a fenced yard at the house so we are out walking many times a day. One bootie has a tiny hole, the others are good so far. I ordered the medium for him and they fit well.

We also ordered the dozen booties and they were fabulous for our walk the other day along the salted/sanded road. We have not yet tested them in the woods or deep snow....too cold out this week to do any walking!
Nigel does get them off very quickly, so next time I'll just boot him up last.

I think these look good. I've written to Joan at DoggieDesigns and she's given me some tips to see if that helps keep the bootee on Lottie - it's come off on the 3 occasions I've put it on her. pawzdogboots.com/galleryThey are available on line but also in selected stores world wide. They look a bit like a cross between a condom and a balloon!

Hi There,
I bought the Pawz dog boots for my Ace last week and they work very well! There are 12 in a package, and they are listed as "disposable" but so far I have used the same 4 Paws boots 3 times. I mistakenly bought the XL size but the medium or large size will be a better fit. My hound was able to have several large runs in the snow and ice while wearing the Paws boots which protected his paws from ice cuts. The Pawz boots also protect against the gravel and salt outside, and they just slip off when you get in. Clean paws after coming in is always nice.
Just my 2 cents. I'll buy them, again.

That's good to hear. How do you find it putting them on? Does your dog stand still or pull his/her leg away from you? The site I looked at suggested medium/blue for greyhounds. Do you think these booties would protect paws from broken glass?

I use these on my chihuahuas and on Elly. They are great for keeping snow and ice from forming between their toes and keeping their feet dry but they will not protect them against sharp objects. They are only a little thicker than a balloon. I like the fleece booties in the winter because they are think enough for them to still feel the ground under them but thick enough that keep their feet a little warmer. They do fall off sometimes though...especially in deep snow.

The sole of the Neopaw bootie would probably protect from random bits of broken glass. Note that regular performance is the recommended shoe for greyhounds, NOT the high performance versions.

Hi Rubylottie14 Putting on the Pawz dog boots gets easier with practice. It is easiest if your hound is laying down, otherwise you and your hound will need to do a bit of balancing so they lift up one paw at a time while you put on the bootie. I would definitely get either the medium or large size. Take your hound with you to the store to try the Pawz dog boots on if you can, to be sure you get the right size. The idea is that they should fit snug. After several wears they may get small holes in them from the hounds nails. As for protecting against glass, I think it would help some but not a guarantee.
